Space is dark because there’s no light. I know, I know, it’s a mind-boggling concept. But think about it – there’s no atmosphere in space, which means there’s nothing to scatter or reflect light.
📍In other words, light from stars and other sources can only travel in straight lines, and when it doesn’t hit anything, it just keeps going until it reaches another object. This is why space appears black or dark to use here on Earth
